PC/LAN Migration Support Technician
Atlanta, GA

Our client is one of the nation’s premier transportation companies. Their railway subsidiary operates in over 20 states and serves major container ports in the eastern United States.

Position Summary:
Candidates will assist with the migration from Windows XP to Windows 7 at remote field locations. The position will require travel and involves working at multiple locations across the client serves.

Job Responsibilities:
Thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Thorough understanding of Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise 64 –bit Operating System
Thorough understanding of Microsoft networking technologies
Thorough understanding of Ethernet based TCP/IP Networking Technologies
Thorough experience with troubleshooting skills via telephone and desk side support
Ability to perform PC upgrades (desktop and laptop), both hardware and operating system.
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Good verbal and written communication skills

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
2+ years experience at Level 2 PC/LAN Support in an enterprise level TCP/IP Network environment
2+ years experience in help desk support and problem resolution with a large enterprise organization.
Experience upgrading Windows XP to Windows 7 in an enterprise, production environment.
SIGNIFICANT experience installing, configuring, upgrading and repairing Windows XP Professional and Windows 7 desktop and laptop computers in an enterprise environment.

Education: 4-yr College degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
